It is a well-known fact that Winnipeg has, and continues to, produce top

quality musicians and Vaughan is no exception. Having over 20 years playing experience, Vaughan has enjoyed playing many styles of music. 

Currently Vaughan is playing in bands covering music from Blues, Jazz, R&B, R&R, 50’s and 60’s R&R, Traditional and Top 40 Country. Since 1993, Vaughan has been nominated for Bass Player of the Year at the annual Manitoba Country Music Association Awards show, receiving the award in 2000. In February 2006, Vaughan was nominated for “Blues Bass Player of the Year” at the Winnipegblues.com Music Awards. 

In his career as a bassist/band director, Vaughan has played with Chris Bigford, Chris Cummings, Suzanne Gitzi, Joey Gregorash, Tara Lynn Hart, Sean Hogan, Brad Johner, Tracy K, Lyndia Scott, Amanda Stott, Streetheart, Stephanie Thomson and J.R. Vatour.

In 1998-2000, Vaughan attended the University of Manitoba, expanding his knowledge at the School of Music. There, he studied String Bass with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Bassist, Eric Hansen, as well as playing in the University’s Jazz and Concert Bands.
